Roseville home riddled with holes after Wednesday driveby

A quiet neighborhood was abruptly woken up Wednesday to the sound of gunshots. Now, police are searching for answers about who is responsible and why.

The 911 calls started pouring in at 4:10. Callers said they heard multiple gunshots.

"I just woke up to what sounded like gunshots coming from next door."

"I just heard maybe like five gunshots.

That's when Chief James Berlin said units arrived.

"Shortly thereafter we located a house that had in fact been hit at least six times by we believe a high caliber handgun. We have no idea why this home or homeowner was targeted and so far he's not being very cooperative with us either," Berlin said.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt but police said the home in the 28000 block of Rosemont Street was struck six times by bullets. The homeowner was sound asleep inside at the time and could not explain to police why he would have been targeted. However, police say they're familiar with the man who lives there.

Neighbors say he's caused problems and weren't surprised someone shot at his home.
