Southbound US-23 closed due to multi-vehicle accident in Livingston County

Officials in Livingston County have shutdown southbound US-23 after M-36 due to a multi-vehicle accident involving at least one semi-truck. 

The crash happened shortly after 6 p.m. 

According to Green Oak Township police, a 42-year-old person was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when they crashed into multiple vehicles including a semi-truck carrying milk.

The wrong-way driver had to be extracted from their vehicle and life-flighted to the hospital. 

According to police, other than the driver who appeared to cause the accident, there were no other serious injuries. 

There is no word on when the roadway will re-open.
