Spelling goof in California benefits local library

A spelling mistake at a public library in California is coming in handy for one in metro Detroit.

The Berkeley Public Library in California ordered some buttons to promote its book services, but the name of their city is misspelled.

Someone at the library had the idea to put the buttons to good use still, and shipped them to the public library here in Berkley, Michigan.

The Michigan library posted on Facebook recently, thanking California for sending the buttons.

"'Berkley' or 'Berkeley'...we're both fans of celebrating new library card holders," the Facebook message reads.

The library added this isn't the first time they've received a shipment of misspelled buttons from California.

They say they save the buttons for kids who are getting their library card for the first time.
