St. Clair Shores homeowner robbed at gunpoint

A St. Clair Shores homeowner was robbed at gunpoint in his home.

Neighbors say they the heard noise late Tuesday night in their quiet neighborhood. It all happened just blocks away from the police department.

Police believe the suspect arrived in an older, early-model 2000 silver Cadillac.

"It appears that he was followed home; he was targeted at a different location," says Det. Gordon Carrier of the St. Clair Shores Police Department.

Carrier says the suspect went into the home through the front door, which was unlocked, and pulled out a gun. He says the suspect pointed the gun at the family and demanded money. The man pulled money out of his pockets and handed it to the intruder.

The suspect ran away and drove off.

The family says they got a good look at the suspect, and officials have put together a sketch of the man.

Police also believe a second car was waiting nearby.
