Thief steals child's medical breathing machine in break-in

A thief broke into a Detroit house Saturday and stole everything - including medication and a breathing machine for a child with special needs.

"I feel if you can come and rob someone's house you can go get a 9 to 5 and make it yourself." said homeowner Lisa Lowery.

Last weekend Lowery says she came home to find a side door wide open and everything of value gone.

"I found out that all my electronics had been stolen," she said. "Computer, tablets, they even stole my safe."

The mother of two says whoever took the items entered through a bathroom window, then.ransacked her home and took the items in broad daylight.

Lowery say they even took her son's medical equipment.

"Right now I'm not sleeping at night because he doesn't have his breathing machine," she said. "And we're constantly going to hospital. This just happened Saturday and we've been to hospital four times."

"I'm just hurt," said Devon Lowery-Christian. "It's all gone now. I want my stuff back."

Lowery said that the thieves also took stole her food."

"(They) went into the refrigerator and stole meats, milk, bread, juice, lunch meat  - and that's taking away food from my kids' mouth," she said.

The mother of two says this is the third time her house has been broken into in five years.

"The other two times I had something left," she said. "Now it's like everything of value I've assumed over the years is gone."

She says her family has established a GoFundMe account online hoping the community can them get back on their feet. CLICK HERE if you would like to donate.

"I'm humbling myself for my kids," she said. "I feel they should not have to suffer more than than already have."
