Truck carrying 2,200 pigs overturns on Ohio highway

They weren't squeals of joy along U.S. Route 35 in Ohio Monday.

A semi-trailer carrying 2,200 piglets overturned after hitting a guardrail. The driver was not injured, and a female passenger was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. At least 300 piglets were killed, though.

Several more escaped into a nearby wooded area. Volunteers and police officials searched the area into the morning for the escaped farm animals, carrying the escaped, squealing pigs by their hind legs.

The truck was close to it's destination in Indiana, having driven from South Carolina.

No word on how many pigs may still be on the lose this morning.
