"One of them is in a coma," said Ken Williams. Williams has a son-in-law, Cody, in the hospital. The 29-year-old and his best friend Dre were racing each other on four wheelers Sunday night down Annot near Sauer, when the two crashed. The 27-year-old man was badly hurt.
"He was just bleeding, really bad. The blood wasn't dripping, it was running like a faucet from his ear," said Shawntia Wright.
"Head's all gushing blood, his face was all gushing with blood," said Williams.
A horrible scene on the city's east side and now two men are in the hospital. Police worry with warmer weather, it'll only get worse.
So the mini bikes and the four wheelers are fairly common? Too common and it's too bad because the accidents are tragic.
Police say the four wheelers are not legal here on city streets and to be in them without helmets? Well that's even more dangerous.
"They are dangerous especially without a helmet; you got no helmet on," said Williams.
Police say those spotted on four wheelers or mini bikes will be ticketed and the ATV or bikes will be confiscated.
