Two businesses destroyed by suspicious fire in Detroit

Crews are investigating a suspicious fire that destroyed two businesses on Detroit's east side early Wednesday morning.

We're told the fire started at the Metro PCS Building, then spread to Reggie's VIP Cutz on Warren Avenue, next door.

Fire officials on scene say the cell phone business next door had a recent addition, and that the fire stops were either improperly constructed or not done at all, which is how the fire skipped over to the building so quickly.

The scene has now been cleared.

We expect to learn more from arson investigators soon.
