While driving his cab, he picked up a 22-year-old college student who heard Ken's story and wanted to help.
So the student started a GoFundMe page which so far has raised nearly $20,000.
Broskey's goal is to raise $95,000 - he hopes to be able to buy the home he lives in with his daughter and grandchildren so he can leave them with no house payment.
Wednesday night The Social Club in midtown also hosted a fundraiser for Ken and his family.
"For many years I wondered what life is all about," Broskey said. "Only after I was diagnosed with terminal cancer I realized that life is all about family and friends."
