Viewing, funeral planned for baby found at recycling center

A viewing and funeral are scheduled for a newborn whose body was discovered at a southeastern Michigan recycling center.

Authorities say visitation takes place Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home in the Detroit suburb of Roseville. A funeral is planned for Wednesday at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township.

The services and burial were delayed until courts signed off.

Morgue employees named the child Henry Alexander Macomb, after Macomb County's namesake, Gen. Alexander Macomb.

The boy's mother, 24-year-old Angela Alexie, has been charged with child abuse and murder committed during a felony. Defense attorney Steve Kaplan says she's "remorseful."

A judge has ordered her to undergo a psychological evaluation.

Police say Alexie gave birth Dec. 22 in an Eastpointe garage and left the baby. The body was found Jan. 14 at a Roseville recycling center.
