Water mania, the broken water main at Tuxedo and Hamilton in Highland Park has been flowing water above ground for days.
"This has been running all week and they're finally fixing it. It's cut off all the way down to the Lodge," said Gregory Davis.
Gregory Davis lives on Monterey near the Lodge in Highland Park. He says he and his neighbors have had little or no water pressure.
What's the water pressure like at your home?
"Oh man, it's running real slow, it's just ridiculous. I got kids you know, even the neighbors are asking me and I'm not a plumber," said Davis.
Employees working manufacturing shifts at two plants on Oakland Avenue and Highland Park tell Fox 2 they're working without water, using Porta Potties positioned behind the plant but they can't wash their hands. As the crew continued to work on repairs, we caught up with Highland Park Mayor DeAndre Windom. Hey, Mr. Mayor, they're going to town on it. When do you think it'll be fixed, tonight?
"What happened was, we had one water main that the crew came out earlier today, we repaired that water main break; unfortunately, when you work on water main breaks and these mains have been in here since 1911, so can the state send Highland Park some money, Wayne County send Highland Park some money to repair water mains? This is not just a problem here in Highland Park," said Mayor Windom.
How long do you think it might taken then to repair? Mayor Windom says "They just actually put the sleeve on the break, now they're about to wrap everything up and turn the water back on."
"The water will be on tonight, the water will be on tonight." You fixed it. "That's what we do in Highland Park, that's what we do," said Mayor Windom.
