By Sunday evening, many in the southern part of the state will be getting between 3 and 5 inches with the higher totals coming closer to the Ohio border.
Snow is expected to taper off by late Sunday evening, according to Weather Authority Rich Luterman.
Luterman said the current storm is brewing across the southwest and it is headed on track across the Ohio Valley this weekend.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Sunday including Wayne, Washtenaw and Lenawee counties.
