Wide Open West (WOW)'s Internet service is still spotty for many metro Detroit customers Monday morning.
The company says an attack on their servers is what left the area without Internet service over the weekend. No word yet on when service may be fully restored.
On Twitter WOW told it's customers, "The DDOS attacks are continuing through the weekend. For now please try using [G]oogle's DNS while we work on fix."
DDOS stands for a Distributed Denial of Service Attack, which is a malicious attempt to make a server or network unavailable to users. In other words, sounds like WOW got hacked.
No word yet on if the company plans to compensate its customers for the inconvenience.
FOX 2's request for comment from WOW has not yet been returned.
