ALLEN PARK-- - Lions Head Coach Jim Caldwell announced Monday that tight end Brandon Pettigrew is out for the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee.
Caldwell: Wouldn't speculate on whether Pettigrew could bounce back from a 2nd ACL on the same knee. "Leave it to the doctors." #Lions— Jennifer Hammond (@HammerFox2) December 14, 2015
Pettigrew originally tore his left ACL in his rookie campaign. The 2009 Lions first round pick had seven catches for 67 yards and one touchdown before being lost for the year. He was also the Lions' main blocking tight end.
Caldwell said they are evaluating the addition of another tight end who can block. @BGrew87 is a HUGE loss to this team and offense.— Jennifer Hammond (@HammerFox2) December 14, 2015
