Detroit Pistons home opener tonight

Detroit Basketball is back. Tonight is the home opener for the Pistons.

The team is hosting the Utah Jazz Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still available and start at around $20.

The team is fresh off a win from its first game of the season in Atlanta. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 21 points to lead all five Detroit starters in double figures, while Andre Drummond pulled down 19 rebounds to lead a commanding 59-40 edge. The Hawks fell behind by as many as 19 and couldn't rally even when the Pistons missed 20 of their final 22 shots from the field. The final score was 106-94.

Also, Anthony Tolliver missed the game after getting word that his pregnant wife was in labor. He took a flight home early Tuesday to be with his spouse and their new daughter.

FOX 2's Maurielle Lue is at the Palace this morning, and we're hearing we can expect big things at the games this season. The halftime show tonight is CeeLo Green, the Four Tops and Selected of God Choir, who is fresh off their appearance on America's Got Talent.

"We go big," says Kenny Jimenez, director of Game Entertainment. "We put a lot of time into our event to get  fans excited to see the new team on the court. We put a lot of time in our lights, our production; the haze, the smoke; it's going to feel like a Super Bowl."
