Lions announce contract extension with safety Glover Quin plus notes from day one

The Detroit Lions announced Sunday a contract extension with safety Glover Quin through the 2019 season minutes before their first training camp practice.

Quin, 31, has started 64 straight games for the Lions since signing with them in 2013.  In 127 career regular season NFL games, he has 21 interceptions, six forced fumbles, three sacks and one touchdown.  The 2014 Pro Bowl player had 68 tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble last season for the Lions.
