Tigers Sign RHP Mark Lowe to Two-Year Deal

DETROIT--

The Detroit Tigers announced they have signed righthanded relief pitcher Mark Lowe to a two-year contract.  Lowe is 32 years old and has played in ten Major League Baseball seasons.

"Mark solidifies the back end of our bullpen," said Tigers General manager Al Avila in press release.  "He is coming off a solid season and is someone we felt would upgrade our relief pitching."

Lowe played in 57 games last season with the Toronto Blue Jays and the Seattle Mariners while earning a 1.96 ERA, throwing 61 strikeouts and pitching to a 1-3 record.

The Major League Baseball Winter Meetings continue in Nashville, Tennessee through December 10th.
