Veteran OL Geoff Schwartz Signs with Lions

Veteran offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz tweeted Wednesday morning that he has joined the Detroit Lions and the Lions' confirmed the signing shortly afterwards.

Schwartz, 29, was originally drafted in the 7th round of the 2008 draft by the Carolina Panthers and has also played for the Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs and the last two seasons with the New York Giants, including last year when his season was cut short due to breaking his leg in week 12.  He also had a broken ankle in 2014.   

The Oregon product -- who is 6'6", 340 pounds -- has played tackle and guard in the NFL, but most recently has played guard.  He has played in 74 career games and started 11 last season.
