(FOX 2) - Barley, BBQ & Beats is returning and is headed to Detroit this year.
The event, which features some of Michigan's most well-known whiskies, barbecue food and music, will be held at Eastern Market's historic Shed 3 on Thursday, May 23 from 5 until 9 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased for $40 in advance at www.hom.org/BBB2019. Admission increases to $45 at the door on the day of the fundraiser. The event benefits Hospics of Michigan.

1 lb jalapenos, halved and de-seeded
1 lb ground chorizo, thawed, cooked and strained
1 lb cream cheese
2 Tbsp minced garlic
2 Tbsp minced green onion
1 Tbsp Kosher salt
1 lb raw bacon
Your choice BBQ sauce
1. Mix cooked and strained chorizo with cream cheese, garlic, onion and salt in a separate bowl and chill before stuffing jalapenos.
2. Stuff halved jalapenos with blend of chorizo and cream cheese, then wrap each one with an individual slice of raw bacon.
3. Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes of until bacon is crispy. Then drizzle with your choice of BBQ sauce and serve.
