Feds Deny WIC Expansion for Flint Children
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children better known as *WIC* is a federally-funded program that serves low and moderate income pregnant, breastfeeding, and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5 who have a nutrition-related health problem. Governor Synder requested the federal government grant an exception based on the Water Crisis in Flint to help fight lead with nutrition. That request was denied.
