A flight from Detroit to Atlanta was rerouted to Detroit after crews found a bird flying in the cockpit.

The pilot says he saw a sparrow fly into the cockpit and the flight was delayed while crews searched for the bird.

Maintenance crews were called in to try and find the bird as well.

With no luck, the pilot announced they would have to do a plane swap.

Ultimately, the plane took off, but after 30 after takeoff the bird reappeared in the cockpit. The plane had to head back to land in Detroit.

The bird was removed and the plane took off for the second time, landing in Atlanta.
