NAMI Mental Health Walk on Belle Isle

Mental illness continues to be a growing issue for teens and adults across the country, and Metro Detroiters are gathering next week to try and do something about it.

The 14th annual NAMI Walks event begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23 at Belle Isle. NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to save and better the lives of millions across the country. Michigan has a very strong and active NAMI chapter.

Event Spokesperson Kevin Fischer stopped by the Fox2 News studio Sunday morning to preview the event. Watch the video above and click here for more information.
