37 casings, exploded fire bomb found at Detroit shooting

A 28-year-old man was injured in a shooting on Detroit's east side early Tuesday morning, according to police.

Police say several shots were fired into a home on Pelkey Street near Gratiot Avenue just before 1:30 a.m. When police got to the scene, they say they found a minimum of 37 spent casings and an exploded firebomb on the ground.

Police say a man showed up to the hospital with a gunshot wound, and is in temporary serious condition. Police say the man isn't cooperating with them at this time.

Police say arson investigators went to the home, but it appears the firebomb exploded on the ground outside of the home and that the suspectd didn't get a chance to throw it inside.
