(WJBK) - Long lines were reported at polling locations across Oakland County Tuesday.
Voters complained of ballot shortages in Berkley, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Oak Park, Pontiac, Southfield, Farmington Hills and West Bloomfield. By law if voters are still in line at the 8 p.m., they will still get to vote even if it is after the deadline.
The City of Berkley tweeted the shortages in Oakland County are due to a higher than anticipated turnout.

"We are going to contingency plans to make sure everyone still has a chance for everyone to still has a chance to vote," the city's account said.
Farmington Hills has been particularly hard hit with lines as reports have flooded that six locations had run out of ballots.
"Ridiculous," wrote Mark Teklinski on Twitter. "My dad's polling location Hillside Elementary in Farmington Hills ran out of ballots and 'they are unsure when they will be getting more.'"
Talina Bell on Facebook wrote that in Farmington Hills voter ballots ran out at 5:40 p.m. at Precinct 21.
"I walk over to vote and I'm told we have the wrong ballots, we are Precinct 21 and have Precinct 17 ballots," Bell said. "City Hall has no more ballots and is sending a car to Pontiac to pick up more ballots. A wait time of 1.5 hours."
On Facebook, Kordilia Noble wrote that in Hazel Park at Precinct 1 the regular ballots ran out and voters were issued a copy of the ballot that can't be fed into the machine, but into a reserve slot.
The county has said it is working to deliver ballots to the various stations that have run out.
ridiculous! My dads polling location (Hillside elementary school in Farmington Hills, precinct 16) “ran out of ballots and they are unsure when they will be getting more”. @clickondetroit @FOX2News @freep @wxyzdetroit this is a downright unacceptable #vote #Elections2018— Mark Teklinski (@Mtekky) August 7, 2018
