We are learning more about the tragic wrong-way crash in Canton that took the lives of a local couple this week.

And we are getting a new look at dashcam video showing the wrong-way driver just moments before the deadly collision.

Dash cam footage given to FOX 2 was shot right before the 59-year-old driver of an SUV smashed into a car killing two people. You can hear the two vehicles collide.

You can see Tracks in the snow shown in this where Michael Stack veered off of I-275 near Michigan Avenue in Canton Tuesday morning.  He walked away from the crash but in the other car Nicholas Perry and his fiancé Shannon McIntyre were killed instantly.

"They were smiling, everybody loved them," said Sheryl McIntyre, mother of Shannon. "They joked, they played, it is a big loss."

McIntyre's parents sat down with FOX 2 this week. They are left with a lot of questions, especially after learning that alcohol was found in Stack's SUV, something state police are investigating.

FOX 2 went to Stack's home in Wolverine Lake to try and get some answer but no one came to the door. It is where Stack serves on the village council.

There was an empty seat at Wednesday night's council meeting and a moment of silence for the two lives lost in the crash.

If there is any silver lining, it is that McIntyre's 7-year-old daughter was supposed to be in the car that morning. The families are now planning a funeral instead of celebrating the season.

Police said they are waiting on toxicology for Michael Stack which could take about two weeks. They need that first before pursuing any possible charges.
