Derek rides Cedar Point's all new Steel Vengeance

The gates are open for the all new Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point and FOX 2 got a ride on the record-breaking roller coaster.

The Sandusky, Ohio, park announced last year that it was closing Mean Streak and transforming it into Steel Vengeance.

Steel Vengeance measures in at 205 feet tall and 5,740 feet long, and clocks in at speeds of 74 mph. It also has the most airtime of any rollercoaster -- 27.2 seconds. The entire ride will last approximately 2 minutes, 30 seconds.

Riders will drop on a record-breaking 90 degree angle, and go on four inversions.
