Four who died in I-94 crash identified by police

- Michigan State Police have identified the four adults who died in a traffic crash on Interstate 94 early Monday morning. The lone survivor of the crash was a toddler buckled in a carseat.

Police say the four who were killed are Doreal Rodgers, 20, of Detroit; Alesia Maddox, 20, of Detroit; Armonie Maddox, 18, of Detroit; and Ervin Johnson, 18, of Eastpointe. Police say a 1-year-old child from Detroit was buckled into a car seat and sustained minor injuries. Police did not name the child, or explain his or her relationship to the victims.

The crash happened just after 1 a.m. on Monday in the eastbound lanes of I-94 near the Eight Mile overpass in Harper Woods. Michigan State Police say Rodgers, driving a 2006 Buick SUV, was speeding in the left lane when he crossed three lanes of traffic and hit the bridge in an area that locals call "Dead Man's Curve."

Police say all of the adult passengers in the car were killed instantly in the crash. Two were ejected from the vehicle. The child was buckled into their car seat and sustained minor injuries.
