A suspected killer is still on the run in Metro Detroit and the search is heating up with the FBI and Macomb Violent Crimes Task Force joining in the search.

Anthony Iannotti is wanted for killing a Warren grandmother inside of her apartment last week. On Monday, authorities issued a new charge of felony murder.

Dona Lawrence, 61, was killed inside of her own apartment last Wednesday. Warren Police had not revealed many details about her murder until Monday. The details, as described by Det. James Wolfe, are gruesome.

"This was a homicide with multiple punctures to the head area," Wolfe said.

Iannotti is now wanted on multiple charges, including first degree murder. Wolfe said on Monday that Dona's stolen car was found over the weekend and a cellphone box linked to Iannotti's phone was nearby.

That phone, Wolfe testified, was used to make several calls that Wednesday morning.

"Who had called his father and other people the day of the homicide on 8-10-2016," Wolfe said.

Despite knowing that, police don't know where Iannotti is. That's a question they and Dona's family want answered.

Renee Lawrence, Dona's daughter, believes he's not alone and that he may act again.

"Somebody has to be helping him. This is a bad person. It's not like he just stole a car and you're protecting him. He brutally murdered my mother," Renee said. "I can't even see her body because he hurt her so bad. It's killing us. My family just wants to see her body. We can't get that closure."

They don't have closure now, even as they prepare to lay her to rest. Funeral services are set for Tuesday. CLICK HERE for more details.

Anyone with information about her murder or Iannotti's location is asked to call police.
