Mother charged for leaving infants in Detroit casino garage

A Pontiac mother has been charged after leaving her two infants alone in a car at Detroit casino.

Clelie Faith Choute, 27, has been charged with two counts of second-degree child abuse for leaving her children unattended in the MGM Grand Casino parking structure.

Police say around 11:55 p.m. Saturday, someone reported two children alone. The responding security officer found a 2-year-old boy and a 6-month-old girl in a vehicle.

The Detroit Police Department rescued the children and found the mother inside the casino.

She was arrested, and the children were released to their father.

Choute is scheduled to be arraigned at 2:30 p.m. in 36th District Court.
