A third shooting on a Detroit freeway has been reported - and police believe the same suspect is connected to all three incidents Thursday.

A Detroit man reported his vehicle was shot at on I-96 and Livernois in Detroit at 2:57 a.m., the same time as an earlier shooting at I-96 and Davidson, according to Michigan State Police. A gray or silver sedan was seen at two of the three incidents.

This victim was not injured and a bullet hole was located in the victim's vehicle and the bullet was recovered. All of the evidence collected has been sent to the MSP Crime Lab for comparison. More patrols will be out on metro Detroit freeways as a precaution.

"At this time there is no relationship between any of the victims, however with the locations of these shootings and timelines detectives are treating all three incidents having the same suspect (s)," according to a statement from Michigan State Police.

The previous shootings:

At 2:57 a.m. at WB I-96 and Davidson, a Northville man was driving home when a silver car, possibly a silver Chevy Impala, pulled alongside and fired shots at his vehicle. His car was struck, but the man was not. Two shell casings were recovered.

At 2:40 a.m. a man was shot in the leg driving on I-94 near Gratiot. The Chesterfield man was driving when he reported a vehicle pulling alongside of him and firing shots. He stopped at a gas station and called Detroit police.
