The city working to help people being evicted from Park Avenue Hotel

- A number of people living at Park Avenue House, hotel at 2305 Park Ave. which is known as an affordable housing option in the city received notices this past weekend that they have 30 days to vacate.

Mayor Mike Duggan says this isn't right and has decided to do something about it.

"I am just enormously disappointed in the owners of this building, I mean this is just disgraceful, you've got people here 20, 30, 40 years in the building and you hand them a piece of paper saying their out on the street in 30 days, it's not the way we treat people in Detroit and we're going to fight back tooth and nail," Duggan said.

The city is taking a request to move $350k to the United Community Housing Coalition, but the potential donation from the city could be up to $400k.
