(WJBK) - Two suspects have been arrested in connection with three abduction sexual assaults incidents in Detroit and Hamtramck over the past month.
Detroit Police Chief James Craig says two incidents were reported in Detroit and one in Hamtramck. The first happened in early September in Detroit on Webb, but is still under investigation so details are few.
On Sept. 30, the second case was reported between 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Orleans and Milwaukee in Detroit. Police say the third took place in Hamtramck around 5:30-6:30 p.m. Oct. 8 near Denton and Lumpkin.
In the second and third cases, police say they found similarities in that both victims were riding bikes around 5:30 p.m.
Now two people are in custody. Both are black men, one in his 30s and one in his early 20s, and that one had the distinctive characteristic of having marks on both arms.
He says it appears the suspects have done something like this before, and one suspect has a prior history of sexual assault.
Police say they also believe there are unreported crimes regarding these cases. Anyone with information is asked to call authorities at (313) 596-1950.
