GROSSE POINTE PARK, Mich. (WJBK) - Police are investigating a home invasion at a home in Grosse Pointe Park, in which a Chihuahua could be responsible for saving the woman's life.
Family wasn't ready to speak with the media after the traumatic event, but confirmed to FOX 2 the victim is recovering after an intruder got inside the home on Lakepointe and allegedly tried to strangle her.
FOX 2's Hilary Golston had a chance to speak with the family. They didn't want to go on camera, but told us the woman who faced the intruder around 7 p.m. on Saturday is recovering.
As she was trying to get away, her little dog started barking. We're told the Chihuahua, only weighing about six pounds, scared off the intruder.
The woman's husband wasn't at home at the time. He and their neighbors are thankful she's okay.
Police have not offered more details about the suspect or the possible motive.
