The family and friends of motorcyclist Gerald Massey killed in a hit and run earlier this week are asking the public for help cracking the case - and finding who killed him.

Massey, 41, was hit by a car while on his motorcycle - on Puritan near Lindsay early Tuesday morning.

"My uncle didn't deserve this," said Mia Gonzales, through tears.

"You know Uncle Gerald loved you," her aunt, Lakeisha Massey said. "He loved all of us."

Gerald loved them. Now he's gone. They want to know who took him away from them.

"You see it on TV, but when it impacts you, it really hurts," said Lakeisha Massey, his sister. "I just want someone to speak up and do the right thing."

"Just can't believe this," said mother Geraldine Wade, Massey's mother. "This has broken my heart."

The driver took off and left Massey for dead. His mom went to the hospital where she got the worst news of her life.

"She said Mrs. Massey I'm so sorry, we did everything we could do, and I lost it," Wade said. "That was my baby, my only son."

Gerald was a motorcycle man. His biker brothers called him JYD for junk yard dog. He may have cut an imposing figure sitting on his ride, but on the inside he was kind and generous.

"His size may intimidate you, but he was just a big teddy bear, he would do anything for anybody," Wade said.

"Whoever did this. knows who they are. Gerald's mom knows she won't have any chance at peace until they come forward. In the meantime, she prepares to bury a child, which is something that feels like a bad dream she can’t wake from.

"This is the hardest thing for any mother to go through," Wade said. "I just ask God to get past this Tuesday."

Police didn't have any updates, it is still looking for an older model blue Cadillac, what's described as a Brougham made between 1988 and 1992. Call police if you can help.
