Mom in Wyandotte arrested for throwing booze, pot party for teens

WYANDOTTE, Mich. (WJBK) - A mother in Wyandotte was arrested after police found several highly intoxicated teens at a party. 

One of the teen's fathers called 911 after he found his daughter in bad condition. We're told he found his daughter "stumbling drunk" in the area after someone called him to pick her up. 

Police went to the home where the party was -- and say 37-year-old Nichole Thomson had likely bought alcohol for the teens and was also letting them smoke marijuana. The kids were all around 15 or 16 years old, and police say Thomson's son was at the party too. 

We're told one teen was found on a trampoline in the backyard, vomiting, and the girl whose father picked her up was taken to the hospital where we're told she had a BAC of .16.

"A .16, especially at that age, is extremely high and it's dangerous. It's toxic and it could've been deadly," says Deputy Chief of Police Archie Hamilton. 

He tells us Thomson was also intoxicated when police arrived, so it appears she was partying with the teens. Hamilton says she started to verbally attack the officers as they arrested her. 

Thomson was charged with disorderly conduct and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She spent about two weeks in jail and has since been sentenced to probation. The party happened on July 21. 

Hamilton says they appreciate the dad who called 911, because he could've just left with his daughter but, instead, acknowledged the danger the other teens were in. 

"The takeaway for the parents is know where your child is. Even if your child says, 'Hey, I'm going to spend the night at my friend's house' - we've all been there before and we know. So, take a ride by there," Hamilton advises. "Know the friend's parents."
