Thursday forecast: overnight snow could bring up to 3 inches

The big talk of the weather forecast tonight is the snow. It will arrive overnight and likely impact your Friday morning commute.

The FOX 2 Weather Authority says the timeframe for the snow is from midnight to 8 a.m. It could bring anywhere from just a dusting to up to 3 inches, depending on where you live. Many of us will be on that lower end of the range, and northern Oakland and Macomb counties up to the I-69 corridor should see the higher totals.

There's definitely potential to coat the roadway, though, no matter where you live, so keep that in mind for your drive tomorrow morning.

Before the snow comes, we'll get through another chilly day. The winds are still here but won't be as strong as Wednesday. We'll see gusts 10-20 mph today, compared to yesterday's 35 mph gusts.

Highs will only get in the low 40s Thursday, which is well below the mid-50s average we usually get in early April. This cold snap isn't expected to break until late next week.
