Protect your pets from the Summer heat

Summer will soon be here, but we have already seen our first heat wave. The Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center wants to remind everyone that a hot car is no place for your beloved pet. Even on a cool day, the temperatures inside a parked care can quickly spike to life-threatening levels. The best advice, leave your pet at home. If you see a dog in a hot car, try contacting the owners. If this is not possible contact your local animal control agency or police department. Eddie is our pet of the week. He is a 2-year-old male beagle. His owners were no longer able to care for him so he is now available at the shelter in Pontiac.
