Protect your pets from the Summer heat

(WJBK) - Summer will soon be here, but we have already seen our first heat wave. The Oakland County Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center wants to remind everyone that a hot car is no place for your beloved pet. Even on a cool day, the temperatures inside a parked care can quickly spike to life-threatening levels. The best advice, leave your pet at home. If you see a dog in a hot car, try contacting the owners. If this is not possible contact your local animal control agency or police department. Eddie is our pet of the week. He is a 2-year-old male beagle. His owners were no longer able to care for him so he is now available at the shelter in Pontiac.
