3-year-old revived after Detroit house fire, on life support

A 3-year-old child is on life support Tuesday after an early-morning house fire on Detroit's east side. 

We're told the fire started around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at the house in the 8800 block of Bessemore Street, which is near Harper Avenue and M-53.

The fire department initially said the 3-year-old had died in the fire. According to the department, the child did not have any vital signs while going to the hospital. The child was revived my doctors and is currently on life support.

Six other people were taken to the hospital. One of those is a 2-year-old child who has severe smoke inhalation. The child's condition is not known at this time. The other six people are adults and are expected to be okay.

No word yet on the cause of the fire.
