Goodwill assembles care packages on Giving Tuesday

DETROIT (WJBK) - Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday have all passed -- and now it's Giving Tuesday. 

Giving Tuesday is about sharing, not spending. Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit brought together volunteers from all over the city.

They worked hard all day long at Shed 5 in Eastern Market, creating 1,000 care packages for local families in need.

They're putting together things like toothbrushes, deodorant, hats -- the kinds of basic essentials most of us take for granted.
