(WJBK) - A 20-year-old man from Shelby Township is behind bars accused of plotting a mass shooting at Lakeside Mall.
Police arrested Tyler Tindell Friday night after he allegedly sent threatening text messages about the planned attack.
He was arraigned this afternoon on charges of making a threat of terrorism.
His bond was set at $150,000.
Detectives and tactical officers from Shelby Township police and Macomb County's FBI Violent Crimes Task Force officers, locate the suspect.
Officers from Sterling Heights Police Department were sent to provide additional security at Lakeside Mall and the surrounding community.
Tindell was taken into custody late Friday afternoon and held, pending arraignment. On Friday evening, a search warrant was executed at his residence, finding one gun.
Sterling Heights Police Chief Dale Dwojakowski said, "At no time was the safety of anybody at Lakeside Mall in jeopardy; this, in large part, was because of the communication between all law enforcement agencies involved in this case."
