Man in clown mask robs Walgreens

Police in Brownstown Charter Township are asking for the public's help locating a man who held up a Walgreens.

Police say the man walked into the Walgreens on Telegraph and West roads with a handgun. The man was wearing a black hoodie and a clown mask.

The suspect was able to take about $300-$400 from the cashier.

Witnesses say the man may have taken off in a blue Chevy Impala. If you know anything, you're asked to contact Det. Sgt. Huddleston at 734-675-1300 ext 1134.

Other incidents involving clowns have recently been reported across the country, including others in the metro Detroit area.

Two other robberies by a suspect in a clown mask were also reported in Ann Arbor Tuesday night. One happened at a BP gas station and the other was at a Domino's Pizza.

Police in both cities are investigating if the robberies are connected. 

Also Tuesday night, two clown-related incidents were reported in Sterling Heights.

A 7-year-old boy told police he was playing outside when a clown ran towards him and dragged a sharp object slowly down his arm, leaving a mark.

In a second, unrelated incident at 8:20 p.m. police say two women were approached by three men dressed as clowns at Lowell and Boulder streets. The men, all wearing clown masks were holding baseball bats, jumping out and started swinging at the women.
