An alleged bank robbery suspect was shot by a customer in Warren Monday afternoon.

The incident happened at a Citizens Bank near Nine Mile and Van Dyke, according to Mayor Jim Fouts. The bank is located in the 23000 block of Van Dyke north of Nine.

The customer, who has a CCL, shot the suspect multiple times. He was taken to a nearby hospital.

Fouts said money was "spread all over the street" and officers are working to recover it.

One witness told FOX 2 that he saw the man wounded on the ground and cuffed by officers.

"The paramedics came and worked on him," said the witness. "He was shot and bloodied, yelling and screaming."

In pictures from SkyFOX, multiple police cars are at the scene and blood can be seen on the ground next to two evidence markers outside the bank.
