This weekend a section of I-94 will be closed in both directions in downtown Detroit.

M-DOT was scheduled to close I-94 between I-96 and M-10 (Lodge Freeway) at 10 p.m. Friday, with all lanes to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, June 13.

Detours will be posted for each direction of I-94 using I-96, I-75 and M-10. The closure will allow crews to set new support beams for the replacement of the Trumbull overpass.

The Trumbull Avenue overpass is expected to open in October. The eastbound I-94 exit ramp to Trumbull Avenue and the Trumbull entrance ramp to westbound I-94 will remain closed for the duration of the project.

The northbound and southbound M-10 ramps to westbound I-94 are expected to remain closed until mid-July.
