Last month some Michigan State Police officers took time out of their busy day to play pickup hoops with some kids.

Now MSP has returned for a rematch and they brought some extra goodies along with them.

FOX 2 first showed video of state police troopers stopping to play basketball with a group of kids last month.

This led to a surprise for Devon and Demontray Horton Friday as a sea of blue state police cars crept up to their Warren home with a brand new basketball hoop and some barbecue.

They brought out the new hoop donated by a Gainesville, Florida police officer who saw the story on FOX 2.

Troopers also grilled up some hot dogs before dropping off this second hoop to that east side Detroit neighborhood it's moments like these leaving them in no rush to leave.

"These kids will never forget this stuff," said Lt. Michael Shaw, Michigan State Police. "When they see a police officer they realize we're a part of their community, we're their friends."
