Mom looking to move scared family after 11-year-old son shot

It was a typical Saturday afternoon for Requelle Smith and her family -- until shots rang out around 3:30 p.m.

Smith says police told her 16 shots were fired into her Detroit home.

"My kids were sitting on couch in living room. They started running and screaming," she said.

But unfortunately danger found a target -- her 11-year-old son Aaron, upstairs in his bedroom. Terrified her son had been shot in his leg, the family called 911 for help.

"I really appreciate that they got here so fast," she said.

This mom says the good news is that her son, Aaron Paymon Jr.  will make a full recovery. He's in crutches and in some pain, but he'll recover. As the investigation continues into who shot up this home this mother of four says she has to find a new place to live.

Requelle says she does not believe anyone in her home was targeted and she has never had any problems. She started a GoFundMe to raise money to get a hotel room for a couple of days but she says she and her kids want to make their move permanent.
