One person dead in fiery crash on Southfield freeway

(WJBK) - The driver of a Kia somehow lost control on the south bound Southfield Freeway ramp and Ford Road Saturday afternoon.

Not given much information from police, it appears that the car hit a tree and burst into flames scorching the tree. 

Firefighters were able to put the fire out, but sadly the driver of that car died on scene.

Preliminary information says that it could have been a medical condition that caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The south bound Southfield freeway ramp at Ford is still blocked off and closed...so keep that in mind! The only real delay we saw this afternoon was gawkers on the highway, traffic is moving.
