Police: Child disappears after staying late at school to play basketball
Detroit Police are asking for assistance in locating missing teenager Jerel Johnson Jr.
Jerel was last seen by his father on January 29, 2016 at 7:45 a.m., after dropping him off at school in the 13200 block of Conant.
Later that morning, Jerel’s father received a text from him, stating that he would be staying after school for an hour to play basketball. When Jerel's father returned to the school to pick him up, Jerel was nowhere to be found. This is the first time that Jerel has been missing.
