Police: Married couple rob former employer with teen girls home alone

ROSEVILLE, Mich. (FOX 2) - A husband and wife have been arrested after Roseville police say they ransacked the home of their former employer -- while that employer's two teenage daughters were home alone.

"Those individuals were armed with what was described as pocket knives, each one of them. They were demanding valuables, money and the such. The teenagers weren't able to provide any assistance," said Roseville Police Deputy Chief Donald Glandon.

Police say Jonathan and Robin Doney ordered the 13- and 15-year-old girls in the bathroom, and then they allegedly began ransacking the house on Victor.

"Taking some home electronic items, TVs, phone, that type of items," Glandon said.

But why this house? It was a Friday morning when the two girls were off from school.

"There is a connection between the homeowner on Victor, his business that he runs, that these were prior employees of his in the past," Glandon said.

They girls were not hurt in the incident, and the stolen items were recovered. The Doneys were arrested about 12 hours later in Flint. They're both in jail on $50,000 cash/surety bond.
