Police warn of suspicious person who approached Farmington High School student

The Farmington Public Safety Department is investigating an incident involving a suspicious person and a high school student. 

Police say the student was walking in the area of Orchard Lake Road and Shiawassee this morning at approximately 7:10 AM when she was approached by a stranger. Police say the student was startled by an unknown person who approached her, grabbed her arm and said, "I need your help."

The student was able to run away from the stranger. Police say the stranger made no attempt to follow the student. 

The suspicious man is described as having a deep voice, and was wearing black pants and a black hoodie, police say.

Police are encouraging students to walk to school in groups, if possible, and to walk in well-lit areas.
