Royal Oak's 'Christmas House' holds estate sale of holiday cheer

ROYAL OAK, Mich. (WJBK) - A Royal Oak home became a landmark over the years because of its elaborate Christmas decorations.
 
Now the homeowners are selling the place. But they aren't taking everything with them.  This old farm house has always been decking the halls like no other.

The Royal Oak home on Washington Avenue near 12 Mile known as the "Christmas House" because of its elaborate holiday displays and parties was put up for sale in May.

The home's owner Ethlyn Unger says it's time to downsize after losing her husband last December. The couple had spread Christmas cheer for years.

The five bedroom home is filled with vintage Christmas collectibles are being sold. The estate sale going on now through Saturday at 1713 North Washington Avenue.
